Greater Masaka Regional Council Meeting Successfully Conducted

On 8th July 2023, the highly anticipated Greater Masaka Regional Council Meeting took place at the prestigious Courtlane Hotel in Masaka. This gathering, which brought together district coordinators and deputies from various districts within the Greater Masaka region, proved to be a resounding success. The event provided a platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and strategic planning, all aimed at advancing the interests of science teachers in the region.

The Council Meeting served as a crucial forum for district coordinators and deputies to convene and address key issues impacting the education sector in the Greater Masaka region. With representation from districts such as Masaka City, Sembabule, Lwengo, Kalungu, Lyantonde, Rakai, Kyotera, Bukomansimbi, Kalangala, Butambala, Gomba, and Mpigi, the diversity of perspectives and experiences enriched the discussions and outcomes of the meeting.

Under the able leadership of Ms. Namuliira Annet, the Regional Chairperson, the Greater Masaka Regional Council Meeting unfolded with a clear focus on enhancing union membership and the completion of coding for union members in the region. The presence of esteemed guests, including Mr. Katende Ramathan, the National Coordinator of the Central Region, and Mr. Kwizera Robert, the National SACCO Chairperson, further bolstered the significance and impact of the event.

Throughout the meeting, district coordinators and deputies engaged in lively discussions, sharing their challenges, successes, and innovative strategies for promoting UPSTU membership. The exchange of ideas and best practices contributed to a wealth of valuable insights, ultimately strengthening the collective efforts to increase union membership among science teachers in the Greater Masaka region.
