Infusing Generic Skills in Teaching Sciences | UPSTU ProDev Hour

The session focused on a presentation by Mr. Jude Agaba from the National Curriculum Development Center about infusing generic skills in science teaching. Mr. Agaba detailed how to incorporate five key generic skills into science education: critical thinking and problem solving, creativity and innovation, communication, cooperation and self-directed learning, and mathematical computation and ICT literacy. He provided specific examples and indicators for each skill, emphasizing the importance of learners actively engaging in these activities rather than just following instructions. The presentation included practical examples from various science subjects like physics, chemistry, and biology, demonstrating how teachers can integrate these skills into their lessons through activities, experiments, and projects. Participants appreciated the practical nature of the presentation and its relevance to classroom teaching.
